Frequently Asked Questions
So many patients tell me they had never been told there is a cure to their diabetes. The fact is, your doctor may not have the time to explain how diabetes can be put into remission because it takes a guided lifestyle change to change your eating habits. I will guide you to achieve this goal to improve the quality of your life, so you can do more of what you love instead of living to manage your diabetes and related complications.
I specialize in Type 2 Diabetes and do not guarantee a cure for everyone, but work to cure everyone indeed. There is a percentage of people that will have a much harder time than others to achieve a cure and it depends on several factors but everyone will change the severity of their diabetes in this program towards recovery and 87% cured with successful completion of the program.
As with all human issues of healing, one is not able to issue a 100% guarantee, but my clinical trial research at this point has been that this is the case for the majority of our T2DM - insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus clients within 3 weeks, if they are fully attentive to the program. In this context, most people will also see their blood chemistry, cholesterol, and C-reactive protein return to normal during this time.
I will help you get this if you need it by faxing your doctor a referral for a prescription and consideration from your insurance company.
I am licensed and registered to treat patients, to provide science-based clinically tried and tested safe information. I am constantly reading current research and clinical trials to better serve you. I will not only help you “manage” your diabetes and related complications, I will help you reduce to eliminate these altogether! If I see you are doing something that contributes to you staying sick, I am going to let you know! The plan works if you work it, and I am there every step of the way to ensure you stick to your plan, one day at a time.
Who else might you suggest? YOU deserve a higher quality of life. Your days were intended for more than managing medications and sick days. I will help you get there!
The food you buy for this program is basic nutrition foods. I work with your budget to get the most affordable version of the foods you need to get well again. You spend more on fast food and instant prepackaged meals because you end up dealing with sickness and illness related to poor food choices. Not to mention, fast food and prepackaged meals leave you hungry and the meal plans will be rich in vitamins and minerals from healing foods that are high in fibers and high quality proteins and fats that will keep you full and satisfied for hours with hunger again in a few hours, the way it is supposed to be!
A personalized meal plan is included in all packages. This is developed by first discussing your budget, food preferences, cultural food preferences, allergies, intolerances, caloric, protein, fat, and fluid needs, other medical conditions, current medications and supplements and work-life schedule. Together, we build a plan that will be easily integrated into your life demands. Meal plans can be adjusted as needed and desired during your follow-up sessions.
The first time we meet (virtually or in-person) we will first discuss your most pressing weight, health, and diabetes concerns. We will go over your current blood sugar numbers, weight history, and medication review to assess if you are a good candidate for one of our programs. I will let you know what I can help you achieve and we can discuss your health goals. My goals for all of my clients is always to lower or eliminate diabetes medications through diet training and education, lose body fat and retrain the muscles to use food for energy.

Within 1-4 days, many clients are off 1 or more
medications. In one week the fasting blood sugar for many Type 2 Diabetics comes into normal range, and in 1-3 weeks, the fasting blood glucose level is normal for 24-61% of type 2 Diabetics. Depending on the degree of the complications, 70% of the Type 2 Diabetics may take longer to come into a non-diabetic range, but the end result is often a normal fasting blood glucose level.
We can meet either at your home or mine. There is a small fee $25 for me coming to see you but it is well worth it for me to see where you cook and prepare your meals. I am more than happy to see you virtually once we have established a relationship together and once we have taken the necessary blood work to monitor your progress.
We will meet either weekly or biweekly initially to help you get started firmly on a new diet plan. I can help you with any part of the process. For some clients, I review their pantries and help them get rid of the foods not recommended, for others, we make a grocery shopping list and compare local stores for better prices. We will work on whatever we have to work on to get you to the point where you are making the meals and understand the components of your meal planning. Overtime we meet we review the basic components and proportions of your meals.
The length of time it takes to reduce your medications depends on your medical history and complications you have acquired as a result of your diabetes. My goal with you will be to work with your doctor to safely reduce your medications as you comply with the diet training. On average, it takes two weeks of eating the assigned meal plans for you to need a reduction of any medication. You are considered healed once your HbA1c is normal for two consecutive tests. We will monitor your numbers throughout the program and discuss your short-term and long-term goals.
Together, we will review your medical history and any recent blood work lab results you present. We will review any abnormal lab values and I will explain to you any particular areas of concern. If we need any further testing we will ask your doctor to provide the test so your insurance company can pay for it, or you can schedule the test with our lab test center. All of our tests are overseen by licensed physicians and the information is sent directly to you. I can help you understand the test results and apply them directly to our diet plan for you to get well again!
I currently am applying to become an insured provider for a number of insurance companies. Until then, I can provide a Superbill which you remit to your insurance provider for reimbursement, however, it will depend on your insurance company if they will cover your visits, as they will reimburse only if you have specific diagnosis. I can work with your doctor to get you the diagnosis you need to get reimbursed if indeed you satisfy the requirements of the diagnosis.
